Green & Fortune Café scoops Eat Out Award

Eat Out Awards

The winners of the 2016 Eat Out Awards were unveiled last week, we fought off stiff competition from Timberyard and Kingfisher Fish & Chip Shop to receive the Independent Operator of the Year award for the Green & Fortune Café operating at Kings Place.

The award recognises the hard work and dedication of the team to develop the product offering with launches such as Project Pizza and Cakeaway and commitment to hand-picking only ethical suppliers and beef and lamb from our very own farm in Northumberland.

Green & Fortune Café is an independent café located in Kings Place, specialising in honest, seasonal food. Whilst Kings Place attracts a dynamic crowd of music and art lovers attending concerts and employees of the tenant businesses in the building, we are hidden from the view of the high street with no outdoor signage, making it challenging to attract walk-in business and raise awareness of the café. However the café’s success with growing numbers of both new and regular customers is testament to the welcoming environment, seamless service and diverse offering that the café delivers day in, day out.

The award also acknowledges the growth of the Green & Fortune Café brand as 2016 saw the launch of the second Green & Fortune Café at offices located in the Sea Containers building, exclusively for its employees.
