Continuing Green & Fortune’s successful run of award’s nominations, the Green & Fortune Café has been unveiled as a finalist at both the Lunch Business Awards and the Urban Food Awards.

The Lunch Business Awards is a UK-wide search to find the best cafés within chosen criteria that include: coffee, lunch, tea and ‘group operator’. The event “offers people in the growing market the chance to be judged by their peers and to shine for their excellence and outstanding contribution.” We therefore feel particularly honoured to be shortlisted for ‘Independent Operator of the Year’, which rewards top quality operators with four outlets or fewer.

As well as this, our butcher Daz Roach has seen his sausages – which are on sale at the café every day – shortlisted for ‘Best Banger’ at the Urban Food Awards, a self-styled “mission to find the best of the fantastic food and drink being grown and made by the capital’s finest small, independent producers.”

Commenting on both nominations, Green & Fortune CEO John Nugent said:

“The events side of the company has had a fantastically strong summer in regards to awards nominations, so we are very pleased to see our retail operation also being touted as amongst the best in the country. We are proud of being independent and of the hard work from people like Daz that makes us a little different to your usual high street café . It’s a great achievement just to be nominated.”
