Last week the Bibendum PLB Group and Kings Place Events helped raised over £75,000 for Action Against Hunger with its ‘Ultimate Wine Options’ dinner and charity auction. The event, which Green & Fortune were delighted to have at Kings Place, gathered together representatives from all industries united in a common goal to make as much money for the charity as possible.

Compered by Bibendum Director, Willie Lebus, the evening involved a blind tasting competition over dinner, with each table answering gruelling questions about what they were drinking, each vying to be named the Ultimate Wine Options Champion.

The event came at a timely moment for the charity which launched a fundraising appeal last week in response to the refugee crisis. Action Against Hunger’s Executive Director, Jean-Michel Grand spoke during the evening about the work that Action Against Hunger is currently doing on the ground in Syria, continuing to provide humanitarian support in neighbouring countries such as Iraq and Lebanon to help with the huge influx of refugees fleeing the Syrian conflict. Proceeds raised last night will be going to the Refugee Crisis Appeal as well as funds raised from individual pledges for the appeal.

Executive Director at Action Against Hunger, Jean-Michel Grand said:

“The Ultimate Wine Options Dinner was an outstanding event. Vital funds raised will enable our international colleagues to provide malnourished children with the nutrition and support they need to grow up healthy. We are truly grateful to the Bibendum PLB Group and the Kings Place Events team for making this possible.”

John Nugent, CEO of Green & Fortune at Kings Place, said:

“The energy and support for this very worthwhile fundraising event was immense. The line up of people from Action Against Hunger, Bibendum and our own Kings Place Events team delivered a spectacular evening, culminating in an astonishing amount of money raised in a few hours. A true success and I am personally delighted to have been involved.”

Bibendum Director Willie Lebus said:

“Action Against Hunger is the Bibendum PLB Group’s company charity and, right now, is saving lives and changing futures across the globe. From our customers and suppliers who offered the auction lots, to the guests who dug deep, the generosity of everyone involved helped us surpass even our own expectations and make the evening a huge success. Last night was a wonderful opportunity to gather friends and colleagues together to help change the lives of people in need.”
