Green & Fortune’s St. Patrick’s Charity Event Raised Over £32,000

2022 Lunch Surpasses Funds Raised at Previous Events

Green & Fortune held its St. Patrick’s Day lunch to raise funds for The Clink and The London Irish Centre on 18th March at Kings Place and raised £32,785.

The lunch received such fantastic support from the hospitality industry and the Irish business community with 190 guests in attendance. Funds were raised through ticket sales, an auction, a raffle, sweepstake, sabrage and online donations.

The St. Patrick’s Day event was back for a fourth year and in total Green & Fortune have now raised over £72,000 for the charities. In 2021 fundraising was delivered through at home restaurant kits delivered across the UK with live events in both 2019 and 2020.

Green & Fortune’s Chief Executive, John Nugent comments:  “It’s great that we were able to host a live event again this year, after the pandemic forced us to celebrate at home last year. The St. Patrick’s Lunch is always well supported by the hospitality industry, but this year we were particularly pleased with how much we raised and how quickly tickets sold out. Thank you to everyone who attended and made the event a success.”

The Clink Charity works in partnership with Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service to deliver 11 training projects: 4 restaurants, 2 gardens, 3 kitchens, 1 events catering business and 1 café.

In 1955 the London Irish Centre charity opened its doors to meet the needs of newly arrived Irish emigrants. Initially providing accommodation and welfare the Centre quickly became the focal point for all things Irish in London. Today the charity continues to be the Irish heart of London – the largest Irish community centre outside of Ireland and the largest Irish welfare charity in Britain.
