Green & Fortune brews up for a coffee morning to support Macmillan raising over £500

On 28th September, Green & Fortune Cafés took part in the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning in to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support raising a total of £535.25 within the one day.

The Kings Place based café donated £1 of every coffee sale and £1 of every Macmillan themed cake sold, where the Sea Containers located café donated 50p for each of the same items sold.

This year, both the cafés in Kings Place and Sea Containers, aimed to host their largest coffee ‘mornings’ yet by extending the fundraising event throughout the day.

This combined with the help of our loyal customers, who added to donations pots on-site, meant that we achieved our most successful Macmillan coffee morning event to date.

Bakers Rachel (Kings Place) and Judy (Sea Containers) felt inspired, creating outstanding cakes that stood out from the crowd, based on the Macmillan colours, the fun displays were hard to resist.

The Macmillan Coffee Morning is an annual event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, the charity’s aim is to reach and support people already living with cancer, providing them with resources to help them through such a difficult time.
