Kings Place Achieves Record-Breaking Sustainability Rating

Kings Place is now one of only two buildings in the UK to hold an Outstanding rating for Management, and one of just 56 buildings globally to reach this standard. It’s a significant milestone for the venue and reinforces its position as one of London’s most sustainable destinations for events, culture and business.

Based in King’s Cross, Kings Place is home to Kings Place Events, operated by Green & Fortune alongside the Kings Place Music Foundation, with Green & Fortune overseeing all hospitality, catering and corporate events within the building.

Sustainability and responsible business practices are fundamental to how we operate. At Green & Fortune, we work carefully with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to protecting the environment, avoiding products and services created through processes known to cause environmental harm. Our suppliers are expected to actively reduce their environmental impact and work collaboratively to find more sustainable solutions.

Hosting an event at Kings Place Events also directly supports the Kings Place Music Foundation, a registered charity funded entirely through event hire and ticket sales. The Foundation’s work ensures that cultural programming and music education remain accessible, meaning every event held at Kings Place contributes to a wider social impact.

The building’s Outstanding BREEAM rating further strengthens Kings Place Events’ position as a venue that supports clients looking to CSR-proof their events, combining sustainability, social value and exceptional hospitality in one setting.

Green & Fortune works closely with Savills, who manage Kings Place, to ensure that CSR values are fully aligned across operations. As a key operator within the building, it’s essential that sustainability is embedded into everyday decision-making — from large-scale conferences to the day-to-day café offer.

James Pike, General Manager for Green & Fortune at Kings Place, commented:
“We’re incredibly proud to be a fundamental part of the day-to-day running of Kings Place — whether that’s delivering a conference for 400 delegates in Hall One as part of Kings Place Events, or serving coffee to the people who work in the building through the Green & Fortune Café. We’re committed to our CSR credentials, and this rating is another reason why Kings Place is the perfect choice for clients looking to host events with sustainability in mind.”

This achievement reflects the collective effort of everyone involved in the building and reinforces Kings Place as a leader in sustainable property management and responsible events. For Green & Fortune, it’s another step forward in our ongoing commitment to people, planet and purpose — and a standard we continue to build upon.
