Summer at Rotunda: Our Terrace Returns in Partnership with Whitley Neill Gin

Summer has arrived at Rotunda Bar & Restaurant, and with it the reopening of our much-loved terrace along the Regent’s Canal — reimagined this season in partnership with Whitley Neill Gin.

Set in the heart of King’s Cross, Rotunda’s alfresco space has been transformed into a foliage-filled oasis, offering a relaxed, festival-style atmosphere designed for long summer days and evenings. From after-work drinks and dinners to intimate gatherings and larger celebrations, the terrace is a place to enjoy summer in the city — without the air miles.

A Festival Feel, Rooted in Sustainability

This year’s terrace celebrates the best of British summertime, combining laid-back hospitality with a strong focus on sustainability. Lawn games, a horsebox bar and a forthcoming series of live music sessions create a sense of escapism by the canal, while keeping environmental impact front of mind.

Our approach is simple: great food, great drinks and memorable moments, delivered responsibly. The result is a space that feels vibrant and playful, yet thoughtful in how it’s brought to life.

Cocktails That Lead the Way

In partnership with Whitley Neill Gin, a proudly London-based distillery, Rotunda’s indoor and outdoor bars serve a carefully curated drinks list featuring both classic and flavoured gins, alongside off-the-beaten-track wines and draught beers, all priced with accessibility in mind.

The real stars of the menu are the cocktails. Our bar team has created a lineup that blends creativity with a zero-waste mindset, repurposing ingredients that would otherwise go to waste — from surplus event supplies to fruit and vegetable trimmings — without ever compromising on flavour.

Highlights include a vibrant Apple & Rhubarb Last Word made with Whitley Neill Distiller’s Cut Gin and plum sake liqueur, and a refreshing Blood Orange & Elderflower Spritz finished with prosecco and orange sugar. Low and no-alcohol options feature too, ensuring everyone can join in.

For those looking to settle in, our bottomless cocktail option is available at weekends with any brunch, main or roast dish, alongside a separate bottomless wine, prosecco and Aperol Spritz offering.

From Farm to Table

Food at Rotunda is led by provenance, seasonality and a gate-to-plate ethos. All beef and lamb is sourced exclusively from Corneyside Farm, our own regenerative farm in Northumberland, before being hung and butchered on site in King’s Cross. Steaks and sharing cuts remain firm favourites, supported by a seasonal menu designed to minimise waste and champion local suppliers.

This season’s dishes include starters such as chargrilled English asparagus with black garlic emulsion and London Smoke & Cure smoked salmon with boxty potato, alongside mains including chicken schnitzel with seasonal slaw and smoked aubergine with harissa and pearl couscous.

Summer Parties at Rotunda

Rotunda also offers a range of spaces for private events, from intimate dining in the private dining room to exclusive hires for up to 250 guests. It’s a flexible setting for birthdays, corporate gatherings and summer celebrations of all kinds.

For groups of 18 or more, BBQ and Grill menus are available, alongside Rotunda’s Acoustic and Melody menus, featuring Corneyside Farm beef, Texel lamb leg steak and Cornish monkfish tail, served with seasonal sides. Cocktail packages and a DIY gin station provide a fun, interactive addition to any event.

Whether you’re joining us for a drink by the canal, a long lunch in the sun or a summer party with friends or colleagues, Rotunda’s terrace is ready to welcome you.
