Summer Has Arrived at Rotunda: Our Terrace Returns in Partnership with Gattertop Drinks Co
Summer has arrived at Rotunda Bar & Restaurant, and with it the reopening of our much-loved terrace in the heart of King’s Cross — reimagined this season in collaboration with Gattertop Drinks Co.
Set alongside the Regent’s Canal, our alfresco space has been transformed into a foliage-filled retreat, bringing a sense of the English countryside into the city. Inspired by orchards, wildflowers and the shared farming heritage of both brands, the terrace celebrates nature, seasonality and a slower pace — just moments from the buzz of King’s Cross.
Touches throughout the space nod to this rural influence, from bunting and milk churns to playful details such as a selfie mirror and even a bug hotel. The result is a relaxed, characterful setting designed for long summer evenings, whether you’re joining us for post-work drinks, dinner, intimate gatherings or larger celebrations.
Our terrace and bar menus have been created in proud partnership with Gattertop Drinks Co, a Herefordshire-based distillery known for its orchard-inspired, sustainably crafted spirits. Together, we’ve developed a drinks offering rooted in nature and guided by seasonality.
Guests can enjoy a curated cocktail list featuring Gattertop’s botanical vodkas and liqueurs, alongside carefully selected wines and draught beers. Sustainability sits at the heart of our bar philosophy, with our team making use of surplus fruit syrups, repurposed herb trimmings and thoughtful techniques to ensure that eco-consciousness is shaken into every glass.
Standout cocktails this summer include the Damson & Elderflower Spritz, a bright and refreshing serve with Gattertop No.12 Damson Vodka and elderflower liqueur; the Wild Strawberry Negroni, which brings together botanical vodka, aperitivo liqueur and wild strawberry notes; and the Pink Blossom Collins, a floral, fruit-forward cocktail finished with rose petal.
For those looking to make the most of the sunshine, our bottomless cocktail option is available with any brunch, main or roast dish. Guests can enjoy 90 minutes of free-flowing Damson & Elderflower Spritz and Pink Blossom Collins for £25, available at weekends from 11am to 4pm.
At Rotunda, provenance isn’t a trend — it’s fundamental to how we cook. Our menus are built around a gate-to-plate ethos, with all beef and lamb sourced directly from Corneyside Farm, our own regenerative farm in Northumberland. These cuts are butchered and dry-aged on site in King’s Cross, making our steaks and sharing joints a true highlight of the menu.
This summer, our terrace is also home to a repurposed horsebox serving a dedicated outdoor menu. Slow-cooked beef and lamb from Corneyside Farm take centre stage in generous buns, perfect alongside a cold drink or two. Dishes include lamb shoulder with sumac, sheep’s milk labneh, apricot chutney, mint and lemon, and smoked short rib with bone marrow mayonnaise, mustard, pickled shallot and watercress.
The horsebox will be open Wednesday to Friday from 4.30pm to 8.30pm, and Saturdays from 2pm to 8pm.
Alongside our terrace, Rotunda offers a range of spaces for private events, from intimate gatherings in our private dining room to exclusive hires for up to 250 guests. It’s an ideal setting for birthdays, corporate celebrations and summer parties of all shapes and sizes.
For groups of 18 or more, our BBQ and Grill menus are available, with cocktail packages and a DIY gin station offering a fun and interactive addition to any event.
